Pay Rate: Commensurate

Maintain an efficient, safe and secure receiving/shipping department by:
1. Unloading Merchandise from Carriers
2.
Participate in directing receiving and stockroom operations
3.
Receive and accept shipments and
deliveries from all carriers on a daily basis verifying quantity and condition
of goods received (incoming inspection).
Ship customer orders on a
timely basis.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESULTS
1. RECEIVE
MERCHANDISE by unloading trucks; counting boxes to verify receipt is the
same as indicated on the packing slip; pulling all packing slips and matching
them to purchase order and providing them to accounting.
2. IMPLEMENT DEPARTMENT ACTIVITIES by assuring that merchandise is
checked in, ticketed and delivered to the proper staging or selling area on a
daily basis.
3. PROVIDE ONGOING COMMUNICATION:
Informing purchasing of low levels, rush orders, vendor deficiencies and
offering suggestions for improving the process. Not limited to the above.
4. MAINTAIN PHYSICAL CONDITION OF RECEIVING AREA by
ensuring high standards of housekeeping are achieved throughout the stockroom
and receiving area. Inspecting items
against packing slip and prints to ensure the proper items have been received
from vendors. Non conformities must be reported immediately. When the
requirement for reorganizing the stockroom inventory occurs, all inventory
location changes must be entered into the computer simultaneously. When pulling parts to complete orders, a
count of remaining parts must be verified to ensure the accurate quantity
remains in stock and computer updated accordingly. Counting and maintaining
inventory is a perpetual. The inventory count must be accurate.
Preventative
maintenance schedules for equipment including forklift, pallet jacks and other
equipment used in the stockroom.
5. QUALITY – Must have a through knowledge of the LDS Quality Manual and
A2LA procedures. The company will
supply the necessary training.
SHIPPING DUTIES
1. Ship customer orders in accordance with customer expectations including rush orders.
2. Ship using windows based IMS program including FedEx ground software.
3. Must be able to track shipments using shipping company supplied software.
4. Must have packing experience to allow for shipment of goods without damage.
Perform other duties and functions as maybe necessary or
assigned.
Education
and Experience: High school graduate or equivalent (GED). 1 to 2 years
experience in materials control. Military experience in managing government
inventory is a plus. Computer keyboard
knowledge and experience using a computer in a windows environment.
Technical Skills: Numeric reasoning to include proficiency in: adding,
subtracting, multiplying, dividing, and calculating percentages.
Behavioral Attributes: Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate
both verbally and in writing. Should exhibit strong organizational skills.
Results oriented; willingness to follow through and complete tasks.
Physical Requirements: Heavy physical effort required. Routine lifting
of 20 lbs. or more. Walking, standing, stooping, reaching and lifting will
constitute a major part of a work shift. Use of equipment to include but not
limited to forklift, pallet jacks, hand carts, ladders, dollies, calculator and
computer keyboard.
